We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Hand / Food Service Assistant to join our aged care facility.
You will play a key role in ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role combines food preparation, service, and general kitchen support in a caring aged care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of meals, snacks, and beverages according to dietary requirements and menus.
- Serve meals to residents in a friendly, respectful, and timely manner.
- Ensure kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas are clean, hygienic, and safe.
- Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Follow infection control, food safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Record temperatures compliance with site & Haccp procedure.
- Report any concerns regarding food quality, resident preferences, or kitchen safety to supervisors.
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in aged care or healthcare environment (at least 1 year)
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks.
- Compassionate and patient approach when assisting elderly residents.
- Flexibility to work shifts around Perth metro area.
